Arsenal Match Report And Players Ratings And Man Of The Match Against Manchester City.

Wenger promised a different Arsenal and an offensive one, but we saw Arsenal defending all the time and just a single attempt on target in the first half. Thanks to Sterling, Man City missed a lot of chances and passes which were going to make Arsenal lose 3-0 in the first half.  However, Wenger is responsible for this formation and benching Lacazette in the first half and once he came on, he scored.

However, Arsenal lost 3-1 in a match Man City in the fourth loss this season so far.

We will rate our players after every match, here is Arsenal Insider players ratings:

Petr Cech:  Did some saves that saved Arsenal from a big loss, especially against Jesus. Can’t really be blamed from Man City’s first goal. The second goal was a penalty, and third offside which non of Arsenal players expected. 7/10

Laurent Koscielny : Was shaky and bad marking for the first goal. 5/10

Nacho Monreal:  Not the Monreal who was nominated among the best players in October. Caused a penalty as well. 3/10

Hector Bellerin: Average first half, bad second half especially offensively. He left De Bruyne free. 5 /10

Sead Kolasinac:  One of the best in Arsenal’s defense and offense as well. Doesn’t seem injured. 6/10

Granit Xhaka: Disappeared and we didn’t see any real difference he made today. Booked as well and bad behavior when subbed off. 4/10

Aron Ramsey:  Shaky and non consistent, one good move and one bad more. He was more of a box to box midfielder today. Not an impressive performance. 5/10

Francis Coquelin: Bad peformance against Red Star Belgrade, and started today after just three days. One good clearance and a very average match that can’t start in such matches. 4/10

Mesut Ozil:  Disappeared in big games like usual. Just pressing sometimes without a real impact on the game. Booked as well, was so nervous. 4/10

Alex Iwobi: It was expected to start him today after not playing him against Red Star Belgrade. Iwobi is good in offense and defense, but in such matches Lacazette with the experience, may be the right choice. However, he tried and had a screamer attempt. 7/10

Alexis Sanchez: The one active player upfront before Lacazette comes on, but all his movements were useless and a lot of wrong passes to Man City players. and got booked as well. Was it because of playing against his future club? we will know in January. 3/10

Wilshere: Nothing much to do with this bad team performance against the best Premier League team. Not to be harsh on him, he will get 6/10
Giroud: Not sure if he touched the ball after coming on… N/A
Lacazette: Why would Wenger bench him? Maybe Iwobi is better defensively a bit, but Sanchez and Ozil were awful upfront and deserve to be subbed off for him. 7/10

Man of the match: Non of Arsenal players deserves it for sure. However, maybe some players deserve some credit such as Cech who saved Arsenal from 3 goals at least. Iwobi was trying in defense and offensive, and Lacazette scored the only goal. Some credit for those guys at least…

Arsene Wenger (manager): Nothing to say. Typical Wenger and a non sense formation and starting Coquelin and benching Lacazette and not subbing him ahead of time. Changing the formation to the old formation where he was able to play 4-4-2 for example to have more players in the midfield. 3/10
