Arsenal Is Targeting Napoli’s Forward Dries Mertens

According to the latest news, Arsenal is trying to sign Napoli’s forward, Dries Mertens, in order to replace the departure of the Chilean forward, Alexis Sanchez.

According to the British outlet, Mirrors, Arsenal is trying to gain the Belgian’s service for 30m Euros before Napoli renews his contract with a higher release clause.

Mertens, 30 years old, has helped his team,Napoli, to achieve the third position in Serie A last season after scoring 28 goals to be the runner up for the golden boot after Roma’s striker, Edin Dzeko.

Merens has talked before that there are several teams trying to sign him like Barcelona, but he said he rejected Barcelona’s deal because he doesn’t want to be on the bench.

Moreover, he said that he got a deal from Chelsea to play in the Premier league, which he sees the best league in the world, but rejected the deal.
