According to the latest news from England, Arsenal got a new offer from Manchester City to sign Alexis Sanchez in a swap deal with their English forward, Raheem Sterling, and Arsenal is thinking seriously about this offer.
According to ESPN, Manchester City is ready to offer Raheem Sterling plus money in order to sign Alexis Sanchez before the end of the summer transfer windows this Thursday, 31st of August. Pep Guardiola is making Sanchez his main target this summer, knowing that Guardiola worked with Sanchez in Barcelona.
Manchester City offered up to 70M GBP to sign Sanchez, but Arsenal doesn’t seem interested in letting its main player leave to a rival, but a swap deal may make it happen.
Arsenal consulted Man City about the possibility of a swap deal with Aguero, but Guardiola may not let his experienced striker leave and stay only with Gabriel Jesus up front, so instead Guardiola is offering Sterling plus cash for the Chilean star.
Arsenal is reported interested in a swap deal, and Sterling may be the key to make this deal happen, especially that Sterling plays in the same position as Sanchez, and is looking for more playing time with Guardiola’s crowded bench in order to feature in next year’s world cup.
Sterling is just 22 years old, while Sanchez is 28 so Arsenal may be the winner in this deal, regardless of Sanchez’s experience and talent, but Sterling can be an important players for the Gunners if they don’t want their Chilean forward to leave for free next summer.
