Arsenal has officially confirmed the arrival of Sven Mislintat from Borussia Dortmund and will be appointed as head of recruitment.
Sven Mislintat is considered as “one of the most respected player recruitment experts in Europe”, according to Arsenal. Mislintat was the person who spotted big names for Borussia Dortmund such as Pierre-Emrick Aubameyang, one of the best strikers in the world, and Ousmane Dembele, who is the second most expensive player in the world after Barcelona signed him for a record fee.
Sven Mislintat has more than 25 years of experience, and has worked in the past 10 years with Borussia Dortmund and was one of the reasons behind their successful signing of young talent and later selling them for a huge amount of money.
Sven Mislintat will work with Arsene Wenger, Arsenal’s manager, instead of the former head of recruitment, Steve Rowley, who left Arsenal.
Arsene Wenger thanked Steve Rowley by saying:”I would like to thank Rowley for his hard work in the past years for Arsenal. He has been a key figure in our recruitment of so many world class players and has traveled a lot to watch hundreds of games for us. We wish him a good luck in the future.”
