The Union of European Football Associations, UEFA, has announced their 21st century best starting Xl, which included several legends, including one Arsenal player.
UEFA has announced the best 11 players yesterday, Monday, and it included several legends and world class players such as Ronaldo and Messi.
The best 11 players are as the following:
Goalkeeper: Iker Casillas (Real Madrid)
Defenders: Carles Puyol (Barcelona), Gerard Pique (Barcelona), Philip Lahm (Bayern Munich), and Sergio Ramos (Real Madrid)
Midfielders: Andreas Iniesta (Barcelona), Steven Gerrard (Liverpool), and Xavi (Barcelona)
Forwards: Lionel Messi (Barcelona), Thierry Henry (Arsenal), and Cristiano Ronaldo (Real Madrid)
Real Madrid and Barcelona dominated the best 11 players, and Thierry Henry was one of the players who helped Arsenal reach the UEFA Champions League final in 2006, which Arsenal lost to Barcelona.
Henry left to Barcelona, later on, to play Under Pep Guardiola, Manchester City’s current manager, and win the UEFA Champions League
Thierry Henry, Arsenal, and France’s legend has made the UEFA TOTY 5 times and is the only player ever to make the selection in each of the first four years between 2001 and 2004. Knowing that he played in the Champions League every season in his Arsenal career. In addition, he made the 2006 UEFA TOTY after helping Arsenal reach the UEFA Champions League final, and was so close to winning it.
