Arsene Wenger confirmed to Bein Sports trhoigh an interview that Arsenal may sell their two main stars, Alexis Sanchez and Mesut Ozil, in the winter transfer windows in January, but the decision has not been made yet.
Arsene Wenger said:”No decisions has been made on letting anybody go, including Alexis Sanchez and Mesut Ozil, in Janiary or not. We have to think about that to see where we stand with them at the end of December.”
This new interview confirms the rumors that the stars may leave in January after Arsene Wenger was denying such things and insisting that they will stay with the club until the end of their contract in the summer of 2018.
Arsenal may cash out the two players in January in order not to lose them for free next summer. Alexis Sanchez is expected to reunite with his former manager since Barcelona times, Pep Guardiola, at Manchester City, while Mesut Ozil’s destination is still unknown with some rumors of him reuniting with his former manager as well since Real Madrid times, Jose Mourinho, in Manchester United.
Other clubs outside the Premier League are showing interest in the two players such as PSG,Real Madrid, and Bayern Munich for Alexis Sanchez, and Barcelona and Real Madrid for Mesut Ozil.
Knowing that Alexis Sanchez was on the edge of joining Manchester City in summer for a fee of around 70m GBP, but the deal failed in the last hours of the summer transfer windows after Arsenal failed to secure Thomas Lemar’s deal from Monaco, to replace Alexis Sanchez, according to reports.
